Jan 13, 2023

Well, I've run out of pictures of Appaloosa Plains and Sunlit Tides, and I'll need a little more time to build the next episodes of Time Traveler and The Cho Brothers, as both require new sets and characters that I want to work on calmly, so, in the meantime, I'll keep posting some random pictures of my sims and gameplay, outtakes and stuff, like these (unedited) pictures I took of Sunset Valley:

I'm also sharing these photos of Lucky Palms, again no filters and no editing:

It turns out that in December I got a new gaming laptop, so I copied my entire Sims 3 game with all my saves and cc there. It wasn't that complicated, just a little hassle at the beginning to get the game to detect the graphics card, because you know, you have to edit the Graphic Cards document and all that. But the game installed easy (thanks Steam) and started working properly right away. :)

Then I started copying all my current game (saves, cc and mods) from my PC to the laptop. That did take longer, maybe around three days or so, but it was worth it, because the game runs beautifully, no lag, no problems, and after almost a month of playing, I haven't had any issues.

So far, I haven't had any problems with Windows 11 either, everything works fine with it, in fact, I like it, it's quite light and pretty. :P

The Sunset Valley and Lucky Palms photos here were taken in my newly installed game. I haven't messed with the Nvidia Settings yet, but I will very soon to see if I can improve them a bit, as I don't use programs like Reshade, or Gshade or anything like that, just my photo editor. For now, this is just with the graphics settings in the game menu, all the options at maximum, still zero lag, neither in game, nor in CAS (the latter thanks in great part to Lazy Duchess' Smooth Patch, I can't thank them enough for this!)

So, the new computer arrived just in time, because my PC hardly keeps running anymore, sometimes it shuts itself off and refuses to turn on again, but now I can send it to the workshop to do the upgrades I've been wanting to do for months, without having to stop playing my game. ❤️😊

Something else I want to share with you this year are my Sims 4 pictures. Yes, I started playing it again last October, after two long years of not touching it, or was it three? 🤔I don't remember, I stopped playing it since before the pandemic, you go figure, thing is I decided to give it another chance, but I'll tell you about that in a later post. Please, brace yourselves cause I have a considerable amount of Sims 4 pictures to share with you, I hope you like them! 😉

(Of course, this doesn't mean I will leave The Sims 3. I will never ever quit The Sims 3! 😍)

P.S. Sorry for the wall of text.

Testing the Modeling - Interaction and Skill Mod

Okay, so I decided to try the new mod Modeling - Interaction and Skill by mintbeehry from MTS. I tried it with Kelly, from my gameplay The Cho Brothers, because she's already in the Modeling career. She's not the only one in my gameplay who is in this career, though, but she's the one that has advanced the most in it.
Now, please, brace yourselves cause this is going to be a long post.

Here's Kelly posing in the backdrop. This time I registered a random sim as a photographer, later I will assign a photographer specially chosen by me. But, for now, Ian got the part, and I must say that everything worked great. You can set your work schedule, that is, from what time to what time your sim will have his/her photo shoot.

At first, I had to put the backdrop outside the house because I didn't have enough space and the lamps were blocking the photographer's path. If you use this mod, always make sure you put the backdrop and the other objects of your photo studio in a spacious room, because if you don't, the photographer will stay outside, stomping their feet cause they can't come close to their model. (By the way, it took me a while to figure out how to hire the photographer, it turns out you have to use the Nraas>Register option. Once I understood this, everything got easier).

At first, Kelly posed in her outerwear, because she had to go outside. But you can change your model into her career clothes using the Moschino Designer Dresser by ATS3 from the Moschino Furniture & Photographer Stuff Set. This set includes other the items you'll need to create your own photo studio. You can also use this Photo Studio Set by Kewai-Dou, that is if you dare to download from ad.fly. I personally don't.

The Modeling - Interaction and Skill mod comes with its own career outfits. Kelly wore the career outfits previously assigned to her cause she's already in the Modeling Career, at Level 4, which is Magazine Model. This is a custom career by MissyHissy which requires the Nraas Careers mod to work.

These are other of the different poses that correspond to Level 0, Portrait/Portrait with Bouquet. Kelly is a Level 0 now, cause she has just started using the backdrop. The mod comes with 7 levels/photoshoot types, each with their own outfit change.

109. When the session is finished, the model, Kelly in this case, seems to thank the photographer for his work, I guess he replies something like, 'oh it's nothing, it was a pleasure working with you'. Hahaha.
Okay, I don't know if he says that to her, or if she actually 'thanks him', but they both look happy to have worked together.

Then the photographer leaves at the appointed ending hour for the photo session, both he and the model change to their everyday outfits. (Kelly changes to her everyday hair too). I didn't assign any special clothes to my photographer this time, that's why his career clothes didn't look very professional, lol. The good news is that you can change your photographer's clothes (in the backdrop options), and that he will increase his photography skill during the photo shoots.

Ok, this wasn't exactly a review; I just tested the mod and wanted to let you know how it went. I must say I really liked it cause it just made my game, and Kelly's career, more interesting. So, I highly recommend it to everyone who has aspiring model sims in their games.

Thanks and credits to mintbeehry from Mod the Sims for this amazing mod.

Thank you as well to @echoweaver for the heads up! 🤗💕

Hi everyone, I just want to warn you that the next Time Traveler update is going to be super long, so I decided to break it into several small parts or episodes, each with its own number and title to make it less overwhelming and to not lose the sequence of scenes.

Regarding the story, it is not my habit to explain my plots or describe my characters, I like the readers to discover everything at their own pace and draw his own conclusions, but something I do want to explain is that Time Traveler never really intended to be a story, it started as a gameplay about Into the Future, an EP that I had already tried and enjoyed with the Shen family, specifically Dylan and Karen. My taste for describing certain things has turned it into something similar to a story, which I really enjoy writing, but, in many ways, Time Traveler/The Crane Legacy continues to be more of a gameplay, as I constantly go back and forth between the past and the Future, I switch households depending on my mood or introduce new characters or subplots on a whim, cause that's my gameplay style.

Anyway, what we'll see between now and early 2023 is the end of Part Two, "Back to the Past", which will consist of a wedding and a couple of dramatic events. The wedding of course is Dustin and Judith's, that much I can tell you, cause it's pretty obvious; the other events I can't talk about because I don't want to spoil it, but I must warn you, they'll be quite the drama. Then we'll move on to Part Three.

In the meantime, and for the rest of the year, we will continue in Aurora Skies, in the past, where some situations may (finally) be resolved, but also some new scenarios will emerge. And that's basically what I wanted to tell you about Time Traveler.

Coming soon, in another post, I'll tell you what's happening with The Cho Brothers. They'll be back of course, don't worry, but I've been wanting to explain for a while what this gameplay means to me, why it is going so slow and why I need to pause it at times. Please, stay tuned and bear with me these days, as I may not be able to post much, nor at a very fast pace. Thanks for reading this far, I hope all of you and your loved ones have a very happy Holiday Season. 💗🎄

Blog Under Construction

Attention to the few readers I still have:

This blog is now under Reconstruction. This is what is being done:

- Complete translation from Spanish to English, this includes menus, gadgets and texts of the entries.

- Fix and resize pictures, replace those that have been ruined by Photobucket.

- Restore links to downloads or custom content creators pages.

- Add pages with numbered chapter menus and working links for a better follow up and comprehension of my stories.

- Reorganize tags for the blog to make it easier to locate specific topics, stories, sims and generations.

- Post the story episodes I left pending. From now on all of them will be posted in English

- Update Custom Content List

That's all, I think, there might be a few more details, but in general all this will take me some time. In fact, I don't know if I'll be able to complete everything in this year, so I thank you in advance for your patience.

In the meantime, you can read my most recent posts and catch up on my Los Sims de Ana Tumblr here: https://anamoon63.tumblr.com

I'm Still Here, I'll be Back Soon!

Hi everyone, I want to tell you that I'm not gone, I'm still around, but I might not be able to update my stories for a while, at least not for now, because, as I said before, my family and I moved house. The move is over, but we are still finishing unpacking and settling in, we have been living here for a week and just today we got the internet installed, besides there are still some repairs to do and things to bring from our old house.

The plan was to move before Christmas, but the holidays and their preparations got in the way, then, at the beginning of January, my son's girlfriend came to visit from Mexico City and stayed with us for a week, (yes, in the middle of the move, lol). She is back home now, but we still have a lot of work to do here, so I haven't had the peace and energy to sit down at the computer, open the game and take the pictures I need to continue with my stories. But in the next few days I will try to catch up, I promise.

Another thing that has me a bit distracted is that my son gave me Assassins Creed Odissey for Christmas and as you may know, every time an AC game falls into my hands, I can't stop playing it, ha ha. With AC Odissey I'm taking it slow, I only play for half an hour in the evenings, to relax, because I end up very tired from all the work.

But since I can never forget my sims for too long, nor the pleasure of sharing their adventures, here are some pictures of Tony Langerak, of whom I have a lot of material in my archives, and whose story I also promised to continue earlier this year (and I will). I hope you like the previews.

My beloved Tony Langerak, from Tony Langerak's World Adventures.

Tony, during his recent trip to Starlight Shores, where he visited his brother Mike to tell him about his recent marriage with Jeannine and ask his advice about everything that happened with Cassandra.

Mike Langerak and his wife Miranda Cho at the Elixir Shop, as he is Level 10 Alchemist. Miranda is a Singer, level 10 also, a celebrity in Starlight Shores, born in Hidden Springs and aunt of the famous Cho Brothers.

Later, perhaps early next month, we will know what happened to The Crane Legacy and The Cho Brothers. Just give me a few days to rest and conclude the move.
Anyway, even though I haven't been able to post anything, I continue to read you and your wonderful stories, which I try to keep up with.
Again, I wish you an amazing 2022 and I hope your start of the year has been spectacular. Hugs to all of you and see you soon!

On Pause

Hi everyone, just to let you know that my stories and game will be on hiatus until early/mid-January, as I am still busy with the holidays (New Year's Eve celebration with all its preparations). Also, my family and I are in the middle of moving, and we have a lot of work to do, things to pack and furniture to move.

I wish moving house was as easy as it is in The Sims, just a couple of clicks and voila, all your furniture is already in your new house! But it's not that easy, so for now it's almost impossible for me to sit down and do my posts. I mean, I have a few episodes already written, but I don't have time or calm to turn on the game, arrange the sets, choose my sims' outfits, poses, etc., much less take pictures. To do all this I need time, quiet and privacy, and right now I don't have much of that, lol.

Anyway, Time Traveler and The Cho Brothers will be back soon, possibly in early January, if I have internet connection in my new house by then. In the meantime, I'll post some random pictures of my sims, as well as gameplay from other cities, especially Lucky Palms, where I started playing, and where some interesting things are already happening. I'd also like to post some previews of what's to come story-wise, trying, of course, not to give too much away so as not to spoil it for you guys. :P

In short, I will try to be here as much as real life allows me. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. ❤

Time Traveler and Tony Langerak's World Adventures

Regarding Time Traveler, my Into the Future story, I am preparing the next episodes that will take place in Aurora Skies. Some of them are already written, but I still have to take some pictures. It won't take too long, I hope. ;)

****

Also, I'm happy to report that we'll be returning to Island Paradise shortly to find out what happened to Tony Langerak and his brand-new wife Jeannine. And of course, what became of Cassandra, her ex-fiancé Dean Lothario and his wife Emily.

}
I'm not sure I'll be able to resume this story for the rest of the year, as I have a lot of material pending between my Time Traveler story and my Rotational Play, which encompasses several other worlds and many other characters. But I hope, at least, to be able to give you some previews. I thank you in advance for your understanding for the lack of updates and I wish you all a very happy Simstober. :)

On Pause

Hi, everyone. Just to announce that it will take me a few days to prepare the next installment of Time Traveler.  In the meantime, I will share random pics of my other sims, along with old memories of Juliette's family (The Shens), so you get to know more about her origins. Of course I'll post some more on Robin Crane, The Adventures of Tony Langerak, as well as my other sims. I hope you find them interesting.

Writing sims stories is supposed to be fun and relaxing, not a source of stress, so I've decided to slow it down a bit.  Also, my blog has always been about variety, so from now on I'll try to combine the Into the Future story with other of my in game stories, tutorials, cc recommendations and sims downloads, like I used to.

To the few people who still read me: thank you for your patience, your comprehension, and for your likes and comments on Tumblr. Believe me, they mean the world to me.

My Born in Game Sims

Excluding my founding sim, Kim Star, which I created myself, the premades, and some other sims created by me (see the tag My OCs), all my sims were born in game, inherited their parents features, so it is to them that they owe their physical appearance. This appearance could vary from a game to another, cause I use some custom sliders to adjust things like the head size, jaw width, chin length, nose and eyes size (not shape). I do this because, sometimes, by default, said features look a bit overboard to me right after the sims age changes.

Genetics, however, haven't been altered. I mean, all my sims kept their skin, hair and eyes color from birth. I just add custom hair, clothes, accesories and make up (CC), which I don't include in the downloads out of respect for their creators and their terms of use (TOU).

Each one of my sims comes with base game hair and clothes, plus their winter clothes (requires Seasons EP) and clothes (requires Ambitions EP). In the download description I include links to the sites of the custom content creators, at least those that are still active. If any of those links doesn't work, or you have a question about the download, please let me know by leaving a comment.

As for my own TOU, lol, I just want to say (again) that most of my sims were born in game, therefore, they're originals, not copies of other sims or other players' 'base sims' makeovers. Los Sims de Ana are mine, they're unique and I consider them my own. So, if you decide to include them in your pictures, or gameplay videos, I'd appreciate some credit, if it's not a lot to ask.

That's all, thanks for reading this far and Happy Simming.

Back to The Sims 3

Like I said before, I quit playing The Sims 4 indefinitely due to the errors/bugs that use to come with EA's updates/patches, and the ordeal of updating the mods that the game needs to function as a true simulation game. I'm not gonna lie, I had fun and enjoyed some EP's such as Get Famous and Get to Work... for a few days. But I got bored quickly.

I'm not uninstalling the game yet, cause I don't hate it and I have three generations of very beloved sims in those saved games, a bunch of pictures I'd like to share and sims that I plan to upload someday to the Gallery and to my Sims Downloads section (without the tons of CC I used in them, of course). But I don't think I will ever play The Sims 4 or buy anything related to the game again, cause, with every new EP/Patch, new bugs and issues are unleashed. For mi it's been enough.

With regard to Tony Langerak's story, that has always belonged in The Sims 3. I recreted in The Sims 4 as an experiment, it didn't turn out so bad, in fact it was lots of fun, but, sadly, it's hard to play, let alone take pictures for the story, with so many bugs.

Updates are supposed to fix errors, but they end breaking up the game even more. Seriously, I'm surprised that mine wasn't destroyed altogether, like it has happened to other simmers I've read about, who lost huge saved games which were very dear to them.

So... I'm back to The Sims 3, this time for good. Sorry for the inconveniences. Thank you.

Los Sims de Ana is Back!

A panoramic view of Del Sol Valley, the city in The Sims 4 Get Famous

Hi to all who still read this blog not so many now, huh? Maybe none. A while ago I returned to play The Sims, but I didn't last long cause my computer wasn't in very good shape and I had some issues with my graphic card. Finally, by the middle of this year I sent it to the repair shop and I was able to play again, more joyfully than ever.

I gave The Sims 4 a chance, I swear I did, and I had tons of fun, but I had to use hundreds of mods in order not to get bored cause the game is lacking and it's full of bugs. The main issue is that, with every EP or game pack, comes a new updte that makes those mods to stop working, and they have to be updated too, constantly, which breaks the game immersion, which is in itself difficult to achieve, because of the lack of gameplay.

Anyway, I played The Sims 4 from August through October, and after the latest patch something got messed, I lost my patience and gave up. I'm not saying it's isn't a cute game, even funny, not as much as the Sims 3 or 2, but I insist, its lacking something, or should I say, it lacks a lot. I rather wait for the developers to fix all those bugs from the beginning of november and the ones who might have emerged with the release of Discover University; or when they finish creating expansions and the updates are finished. Even so, I admit that I had great fun, specially with Get Famous,
of which I leave you some images.

My sim Michelle, in one of the roles of her life.

The super famous Michelle in a futuristic plot.

Other EPs and SPs I loved were Island Living and Jungle Adventure (no surprise, lol). But anyway, the real news is that I've returned to play The Sims 3, which, after the repair of my computer, runs beautifully, no lag and no issues.
Besides, I've followed a series of recommendations to avoid all the known issues, especially with Island Paradise, which is the world where I'm playing right now, besides Sunset Valley. Soon I'll tell you what has happened in my game since the beginning of November, which is when I restarted it, with new pictures of characters whose lives I left 'pending's for almost four years.

Tony Langerak, after discovering an uncharted island in Island Paradise.

Tony and his firstborn son, Simon.

Of course, I will also publich my pics of The Sims 4, since I have a lot from the nearly three months I played, but let's take it slow. For now, I welcome you back to my blog, I hope you enjoy with the crazy adventures of my beloved sims.

I apologize in advance for all the changes and things that may look misplaced, since, for the moment, this blog is in reconstruction.

Thanks for reading!

What Happened to Los Sims de Ana

Hi to all of you who are still following my blog, Los Sims de Ana:

The reason why I haven't updated this blog in so long is, first, because I am busy in real life writing a novel I started years ago and I want to finish it. No, I'm not a professional author, but writing is what I love to do the most and that's what I've dedicated to these past months, apart from all the things that come up on a daily basis.

Second, although I haven't stopped loving The Sims and it will be always my favorite game, I confess that I haven't played it in months cause I needed a break. It's just The Sims 4 never managed to catch me. I tried it, didn't like it. I uninstalled it, re-installed it, applied the patches that had come out, hoping it would turn into a 'real' sims game, as The Sims 1,2 and 3 were for me, but the updates camel in drips and drabss, they never fixed anything that The Sims 4 was lacking and I was never pleased.

I felt so sad to see that EA wouldn't care what the simmers suggested, also, they couldn't care less about the critics. For instance, the toddlers never returned to the game. I logged in the Sims 4 forums not long ago, to read that post where many users supported the petition to add this life stage to The Sims 4, and I realized that, even when time had gone by, and a thousand pages have been written, still nothing had happened and I that made me even sadder.

The 'toddlers' thing is just an example, but there are a lot more things that don't convince me of this 'new' game. So, for a while, I continued to play The Sims 3, which I adore, but it's exhausting how many mods need to be used in order for it to work properly (namely Nraas Master Controller and derivatives). The constant maintenance of the game folders, the 'cleaning' of the game's temps, deleting the snaps and other stuff in SimPE so the neighborhoods or worlds won't get bloated and so 'heavy'  that the ram memory of the computer won't be able to handle it. Anyway, whoever has gone through all this ordeal to play and is as obsessive as I am about the good performance of the game will understand me well.

I couldn't take it anymore, I got exhausted sometimes giving maintenance to my game, downloading all the Nraas mods, custom content and things to fix this or that error. Not to mention I had to be updating the graphic card drivers and even the ram memory, or outright changing to a new more powerful processor, which means a lot of effort, financially, and, in the end, the game remains the same: crashing
or corrupting out of nowhere.

When they announced The Sims 4 for the first time, I had hope that everything would work better, that it would be something outstanding, with much more detailed sims, realistic, almost 'alive', and a fine finished game engine, something worthy of the times we're living, with games that leave you breathless because of the beauty of their graphics and their impeccable performance.

I sincerely thought EA, Maxis and The Sims wouldn't fall behind and that all of us who had 'suffered' with The Sims 3 issues, would finally have a precious game that would work smoothly. They said in their announcement that it would be light and could be played in any computer. That was -in part- true. The game is lightweight, easy to play, but it lacks all that made me feel fascinated with The Sims. Gee, even the 'premades', Vaya, hasta los 'premades', that is, the classic characters of the game, like the Goths, etc., lack the personalities that made them famous and loved by the simmers.

I'd like to clarify that this is my opinion, I know many will think different and I respect you. I'm not trying to trash the game, I don't completely dislike it, I've played it a lot, for long periods of time and I had so much fun. It's just I can't help seeing him as it was just a spin off, not really The Sims, or at least not The Sims I used to know. And due to the cartoony look of these new sims it was impossible as well for me to make stories, which is what I liked to do most with The Sims, like what I did with the Sims 3 memories. The faces and gestures these other sims make prevented me from taking the right pictures to write a story or to describe a character.

In short, the disappointment I had with The Sims 4 was so big, that nothing has been the same. I still enjoy playing Sims 3, a lot, but I can't stop thinking how nice it could have been to have a 'new' Sims 3 with all its expansions, improved, with a working game engine and more detailed characters, not 'pudding' faced, more human and realistic like the characters in so many other games that are out there.

But, again, nothing's been the same. Not even the forums that I so enjoyed reading are the same. In fact, the page we used for the Sims 3 isn't the same either. This completely another era, all is about making YouTube videos and the like. I don't get it, I probably got old along with The Sims. It has been many years, fourteen to be exact, and I am fourteen years older, you go figure.

I'm not saying I won't play The Sims 3 and 2 again someday. As the months go by and I see pictures of other people's sims, or I visit this blog and I see my own, I start to feel nostalgic for the sims, the real ones, the 'old ones'. Perhaps if in the coming years The Sims 5 come out and I like them, I will feel that 'fever' for the sims again and return to play.

In the meantime, today I finally gather the courage to come here and write this entry just to tell you that I haven't forgotten The Sims, our sims, the ones we used to play with at thesims3.com MyPage (which I don't know if it still exists); that I remember you all and think of you, and wonder if you're still playing The Sims and which are you playing 3 or 4, I hope you do, I hope you continue playing and enjoying. I hope as well that someday we will be able to play as we did back in the day.

Remember how we played in the afternoons, nights, and sometimes even late nights, how we simported our sims and exchanged gifts in game, the potions, etc.? Sorry that I went MIA like this and that I didn't write anything, know that I remember you all. I hope I'll run into you someday at the new forums someday. I love you all and I send you hugs.

Well, I'll finish this post now cause I don't want to bore you. Take care and happy simming. I'll see you again soon, hopefully. :)

(*Sorry for my bad English).

Memories of 2013 Conclude, but not the Blog

Hi, everyone! The end of the year is near and I have published the last of my 2013 Memories. Said memories relate to the game I started back in January of that 2013, in which the protagonists are the Kamel, Langerak and Goth families, along with other households interacting with the five generations of sims that have come out of them. This memories consist of pictures taken in game with the 'Memories' tool, which were published throughout last year in MyPage from thesims3.com

When the release of The Sims 4 was announced, there were rumors that the mentioned page would disappear with all its contents, so I started this blog to save my game memories, which I value high. Today I concluded the titanic task of moving all those pictures to Los Sims de Ana, but that doesn't mean in any way that it'll be the end of the blog. If anything, it's just the beginning! There's still a lot to share, like for instance, the memories of 2014, which I won't call that anymore, cause they're not from the game memory system.

I'm pleased to inform that, despite the hype that the arrival of The Sims 4 has caused, I continue playing The Sims 3 with the same enthusiasm and with the same (now huge) family of Hidden springs, which, counting all its descendants, already consists of more than 300 members. I have as well some new families about which I will be posting soon. Also, I'm planning to start a tag dedicated to my Tumblr entries to, in that way, concentrate my Sims material in a single place. Soon I'll continue as well with the Sims Donwloads section, cause my intention is to upload absolutely all my sims, from the five generations, in order of appearance. Currently I'm at the beginning of the third generation, so, here's another arduous task.

With regards to The Sims 4, I'm sorry to inform that I find myself in and indefinite hiatus, due to the lack of interest in its gamemplay. But I'll try to play it from time to time, even if it's just for a few minutes a day, to try to understand it and get a little more attached to it. If it manages to awaken my interest again, I will not hesitate to share the pictures here.

Anyway, the real news here is 'this isn't over until it's over', there still is, and will be much more to see in this blog, and many more Sims de Ana to come.  ;)

Link to Tony Langerak's World Adventures

There was a little issue with the link to Tony Langerak's World Adventures, which prevented reading the posts in a sequence. This link has been fixed. You can now read the Adventures from its beginning and in a sequence from
here, by clicking on the menu tab or the tag of the same name on tag cloud from the right side of the front page of this blog. Thanks for your patience!
