The next morning at the Langeraks house...
Jeannine was not in the habit of questioning Tony, usually trusting his word and judgment, but she needed to know, and the kids would soon be up and filling the kitchen with their ruckus, so...
"Then you don't know what Cassandra wanted," he said, before taking the first bite of her bread and jam.
"Nope," Tony replied as he sat down next to her. "He said it wasn't about us, and it wasn't about Bradley either, so I'm lost here."
"Mhm."
Mhm, was another of Jeannine's typical responses when considering if to believe him or not. Tony didn't hold his tongue like other times, now he was determined to set the record straight.
"Jeannine, I explained everything last night, don't you believe me?" he asked.
"I believe you, but I have a feeling you didn't tell me everything, and I'd like to know what Cassandra wants from you," Jeannine replied, with another mouthful.
"'F*ck whatever she wants."
"Whatever it is, it'll have to wait, because you and I are leaving back to Champs Les Sims the day after tomorrow, I've already made reservations," Tony concluded. Jeannine's heart skipped a beat. She was so happy to hear the news that she forgot all about Cassandra at that very moment.
