Exams Day

Thursday 3 pm. Kay caught a cold just when the exams were around the corner.

Shantel, in contrast, felt like new and was very happy, talking on the phone with her friend Troy.

He asked her on a date and she of course accepted. She doesn't even remember the alien abduction, and apparently doesn't remember her Hidden Springs boyfriend Shark, either. 

To forget about her cold, Kay started studying for the exam, solving some scientific equations.

Fortunately she does like to study. Time flies for her when she practices on the blackboard.

Shantel was more worried about about her appearance than about math. 

"If I want to have my own news TV show it's best to take care of my look, no?"

Before going to her date with Troy, Shantel exchanged impressions with Kay about their first week at the University. "The first trimester is about to end, Kay. You've studied too much, maybe you should go out and have some fun". Kay promised her she would, but after the exams.

That evening, Shantel and Troy atteneded their first date, but it was all just an attempt cause a downpour was falling. That, of course, didn't prevent them from talking for a while.

Troy attended without his usual cap, gorra, showing off his abundant brown hair. Needless to say Shantel found him very attractive. She probably couldn't see his pointed fangs.

Too bad the date ended too quickly cause it was late already and the rain wouldn't stop.

"Never mind", Shantel thought. "I'll ask him out on the weekend".

Shantel and Kay had a salad for dinner and went to bed early. They had to be fresh for the exams in the morning.

Friday, 6 am. It's -1°C on campus.

Shantel didn't do well in her first two exams, and apparently so didn't her friend Derek.

Kay wasn't very succesful in her first exam either. Why? She had studied a lot and hadn't been distracted like Shantel. "It must've been because of the flu. Yeah, it was that". Whatever, at least Kay's second and third exams concluded successfully. "Maybe it was the side effects of the anti-flu medicine I took".

Shantel couldn't say the same. "Failed for the third time. I'm a flop. I'll never accomplish my goal of being the best TV news anchor".

Shantel promised that night she would study. The exams were already over, but she would start preparing right now for the next trimester. 

Of course, she studied and studied... until Tammy Parker texted her to invite her to her party. "A party? I can't miss it! I'll study tomorrow". Well, so mucho for Shantel's good intentions.
