Winter Romance

When they arrived from the party, Aaron y Kay continued the fun with a pillow fight. Aaron ended asking for a truce. Kay was a tough opponent to beat and besides...

"Did you know you look gorgeous in your pajamas?"

"Aww, thank you Aaron."

And the inevitable happened. Aaron followed his heart! There was a risk that Kay might misunderstand or get angry with him, but the moment was well worth it. There's a reason why they say 'it's better to apologize than to ask for permission'. But Aaron didn't have to apologize, because Kay reciprocated the kiss immediately, as if she had been waiting for it.

"You won't regret this tomorrow, will you Kay?"

"I will never regret it".

That same day, Aaron and Kay became sweethearts.

Kay still couldn't believe it. She felt like she was in a dream.

"I always thought my first boyfriend would be Antoine. But it was Aaron all the time!"

"It's official, my mother will kill me. That was the first thing he warned me when I told him we would all live together. He told me, 'Do whatever you want, just don't fall in love with Aaron Wassem.' When I asked her why, she told me the story of an impossible love with Khaled, Aaron's father".

 

"There's no doubt, I'm in deep trouble, but how do I tell my heart not to love Aaron? Sorry, mome, I did what I could to avoid this, but it happened. Plus, Aaron and I are not relatives. Not even you and uncle Khaled were, but you let your family put pressure on you. Me and Aaron, we won't make the same mistake".

While Kay thought all these things, Aaron thought about marriage. He had decided it that morning after kissing her and confessing his love to her. He had told her he'd made their relationship official, that he'd talk to this parents and, if she agreed, they would marry as soon as they returned from the University.

 

 Shantel was surprised when she knew what had happened between Aaron and Kay. But she didn't get angry at them. Her affair with Aaron was in the past, and besides she had plans too. Her relationship with Shark was going well and, although marrying was not her idea, she was planning to move in with Shark".

The truth. she didn't dislike at all that Aaron had marriage plans with Kay. Somehow she always knew they were made for each other. In fact, couldn't explain to herself how this had not happened sooner. Perhaps Aaron needed to clear his heart, and he had already done so.

 Kay wanted to know what would happen with Shantel's apartment if she moved in with Shark. She told her she and Aaron could keep it if they paid her a small rent.

Aaron loved the idea of keeping the apartment cause he would be able to keep the orchard and even expand the greenhouse. The small rent thing seemedfair to him, he would not accept it other wise, after all it was Shantel's property. Perhaps in the future he would be able to buy it from her, it depended on how his business did.

Of course, all those plans would be carried out after Kay and Shantel had graduated and returned from the University and that was still a long time away. That time would be used to update their respective families on their new situation. Kay knew that nor her family, nor Aaron's would be amused with the matter, but they would deal with that in due course.

It was likely that the Langerak would find Shantel's decision of living with Shark equally absurd. Shark was the ex husband of one of Shantel's aunts, whom he had not made particulary happy. Shark's heartbreaker reputation wouldn't help much either. There was no doubt, trouble was brewing for both Shantel and her dear aunt and friend Kay.

 Antoine didn't know yet what would happen with him. He hadn't found the love of his life either. Kay had been a prospect once, but just like with Shantel, he always knew she would end in Aaron's arms. He was a formal and very romantic guy, so was Kay Him? Well, he was allergic to committment, so to speak... 

 

What was certain, however, was that Antoine would be able to stay at the apartment as long as he wanted. Kay and Aaron didn't mind. It was likely he wouldn't last long anyway, cause sooner or later, Antoine would want to have his own place and a private life.

But for now, Antoine was welcome to stay with Kay and Aaron. Who doesn't want a brave cop like him at home? By the way, Antoine was just promoted to Traffic Cop, Level 3 of the Law Enforcement Career.

That's how things were at the four friends' house, too much happening that winter!

Aaron and Kay spent the night prior to their departure for college, making plans for their wedding and for their life together in general. They could hardly wait, they wished time would fly!
