When dinner is ready, everyone gathers in the kitchen, except Sarah, who prefers to eat her spaghetti in the dining room. Kelly and Riley don't speak or even look at each other. Dale - a pacifist forever - feels a little bad for Riley, since the other two girls have decided to ignore her.
Dale: (To Riley) I hear you're leaving tomorrow. If you need help with the move or anything…
Kelly: (Rather upset) Dale…

Riley: Thanks, but I don't need help from anyone.
Dale: Okay.
The three continue their dinner in silence; Riley is the quietest of all.

It's not Kelly's contempt that troubles her, but the distance Sarah has created between the two of them. It's going to be hard to gain her back, but Riley doesn't lose hope. In her self-centeredness, she's unable to recognize that she's getting what she deserves.

Since Kelly doesn't give a rat's ass that "the Riley witch" is suffering, she starts chatting with Dale. The conversation is about everything they'll be doing upon returning to Hidden Springs and her plans to redecorate the dorm next trimester, including Sarah's room, where 'there's going to be more space soon'. A low blow for Riley on her part, but it's to be understood that she's still very disgusted by the 'proposal' Riley made to Dale. She's sure to hold a grudge over that affront for years to come!
