It is late at night, still snowing heavily on campus. In the dormitory, everyone is already sleeping soundly.

... Except for Dale. The break he and Kelly took was relaxing, but in his head he's still worrying about what will happen after the exams, whether Riley will go or not, he will have to find out at some point.

In the meantime, he will go outside for a while to smoke, to see if that will help him fall asleep again. 

Kelly, on the other hand, was able to sleep just fine. Perhaps because she is already at ease about her worries, and because she already has more or less an idea of what she will say to Riley in the 'conversation' she will have with her tomorrow.

Dale went back to bed about an hour later. No point in staying awake when everyone else is asleep. Tomorrow will be another day to sort things out, the priority now is to rest and be fresh for the exams. He tries to settle in quickly so as not to keep the light on too long, he doesn't want to wake Kelly from her placid slumber.

They're both asleep again, though apparently not so peacefully this time. Dale seems to be worried about his broken laptop, and Kelly? Well, maybe she's gearing up for a fight with Riley, hopefully it will be no more than a few high-sounding words.

Maybe she and Dale are just stressed about exams now, but it it's not hard to guess what the main concerns of the two are at all times.
