Dale almost chokes on his food when he hears Kelly ask about the discount. She realizes something is up and is now on high alert.

Kelly: Dale, what’s going on, the discount wasn’t what you expected?

Dale: Not really. In fact, that offer had already expired.

Kelly: What? That little cheat withdrew the offer? I told you, it was all a trick to get her way.

Dale: It wasn’t a trick, she withdrew that offer but proposed another deal: 60% off the rent.

Kelly: Seriously, and what is she asking in return? To bring another one of her wealthy friends to live with us?

Dale: That’s not what she wants.

Kelly: Then what?

Dale: Well, there are two parts to the deal: one, you apologize to her for saying what you said to her.

Kelly: Apologize… Ha, no f*cking way. What’s the second part?

Dale: The second…

(Dale pauses)

Kelly: (Thinking) The second one sure involves Dale, and it can’t be anything good.

Dale: Riley wants me to go with her to the gala opening of the new Science Room her dad donated to the University.

This time it’s Kelly who almost chokes on her spaghetti.
