Juliette pulled away from the group for a moment. She kept on thinking about Robin. Maybe he had decided not to come? Honestly that would be a relief, considering how her mother felt about him.
But deep inside she had to admit she was dying to see him again. How would he be? How would he look? Had he changed? Would he still think of her?
"Are you sure he's coming?" She asked her brother in a very low voice.
"Hundred percent sure. I talked to him a few minutes ago, he's waiting for the right time to sneak out".
Juliette's heart skipped a beat, but she felt a little better.
"Jul, what's going on? Where's our cake?", Dylan's voice pulled her back to reality.
"I'm coming, Dad, be patient", she answered and her voice sounded a bit more cheerful.
In the meantime, Rowan has turned two years old, a lovely age, but difficult as well. The 'terrible twos'!
But "Row" (as they call him tenderly) is a good kid, he's not exactly rambunctious, but he is very curious. He'll sure grow up to be a scientist like her mother and grandparents, or a doctor like uncle Dustin. Or a time traveler like his father...?
"It's time for cake! Where's the birthday boy?" Dylan, Karen and Logan exclaimed in a chorus.
Juliette wasn't able to answer, she was enthralled contemplating her son. Rowan resembled Robin before, but now he had become his living portrait. (Except of course for the red hair, which he gets from Juliette, and which comes directly from his grandfather Dylan and his great grandmother Sienna).
"Oh, when your father sees you..."
