Saturday at dawn in Uni, soon Kay and Shantel's report cards would arrive.
"Our grades are here! I passed with an A!"
"Oh my, so did I!"
"You see, Kay? We're the best!"
Even when she sounded very self confident, Shantel was astonished at her own grades. However, Kay was aware that, even if it had been at the last minute, Shantel had really put a great effort in studying.
After the initial surprise, they both started to fool around and laugh at each other."We did it, we did it!"
The tension of the previous days was over. They were free and they would return home soon.
They hugged and congratulated each other several times. There couldn't be anyone happier in the whole campus than the two of them
A lot of things were said about Shantel in Hidden Springs, but Kay didn't care, cause for her she was only her best friend. Period.
"I wish you all the success in the world with your career, Shant".
"You too, Kay."
Upon arrival, the Gymnasium door was crowded with graduates. Fortunately, Shantel and Kay had to enter through the Annex. Shantel was already wearing her graduation robe, she was ready for the ceremony, but she didn't seem to share her joy with her classmates. Her mind seemed to be somewhere else. "I got my degree, I'll be a great journalist. Everbody in Hidden Spring will respect me now".
Kay was also ready to graduate. What a stress! Her mind was also in Hidden Springs, although in a different way from Shantel's. "This degree is for you, mom and dad. And for you as well, my dear Aaron".
The evening fell, the lights of the Gymnasium and Annex lit up. The Graduation ceremony had started.
Two hours later...
"Graduated! At last!"
Kay and Shantel danced and sang in the middle of the esplanade.
They even cried in a moment of nostalgia and sadness".
"Farewell, St. John University".
But upon arriving home, they started to play again, making funny faces. Something childish perhaps, but somehow they had to kill the time before they had to go home.
It was only a matter of hours before the transport arrived. Kay and Shantel had their suitcases ready, all that remained was to wait.
There was a party at the Frat house, but the girls chose to stay home, playing. There they would wait calmly; no surprises, no unforeseen events, and above all, no problems. Of course Shantel would've liked to be at Ludo's party, with Jeff and the others, but she had matured and knew it would be best not to.
The moment of leaving the University behind had come.
"Goodbye, my dear Uni. I'll miss you, but I have too many plans and dreams to realñize in hiAdiós, mi querida Uni. Te echaré de menos, pero tengo demasiados planes y sueños que realizar en Hidden Springs."
