Sandy was late for her first Wednesday class. In the future, she would have to get up earlier
That day, the effort she put in her classes and her visit to the Comic Store, helped her to ascend in the Nerds social group, and gave her the right to challenge them in friendly trivia challenges. That day as well she met Mahmoud Yavari, the leader of the group.
It was said that Mahmoud was not only the most popular guy, but the most intelligent of the Nerds. Oh, really? Well Sandy couldn't resist challenging him to a Trivia game and... Surprise, she beat him in the first round.
And in the second! She was about to beat Mr. Know-it-tall Yavari.
But in the end, as it was expected, Mahmoud displayed his cunning and defeated Sandy in the third round.
"No, this can't be!"
"Come on, Sand, don't worry, you weren't so bad".
That ws true. After all she had won two rounds. Plus it had been worth it just to have met the famous Mahmoud Yavari.
Mahmoud, seemed happy as well to have met Sandy. He even asked her for an autograph. Wow, being the mayor's daughter had its perks.
After the trivia, Sandy bought her first comic, The Llama Man, Number 356, and a snack too cause she was starving.
Upon arriving home she got a message from Nathaniel Wright, asking her for a date. While she read it, she noticed that Brenda Kemp was observing her. This was the second time in a week she caught her doing that. Was she be a spy sent by her father? That sounded absurd, but knowing her father, he was capable of anything in order to protect her from Uni 'dangers'.
Before going to sleep she got a phone call from Simon. Listening to his voice really cheered her up, and made her remember how lucky she was to have him as her boyfriend.
Simon asked her if she was wearing the ring he had gave her the day they had gone steady. Of course she was wearing it! On that day they had promised that they would be together forever.
They were talking almost until midnight. Simon told her all the news from Hidden Springs; Sandy told him about her experiencies in the Uni, omitting of course the Nathaniel matter. Finally, she told him she had to hang up cause her phone battery was low. Simon told her he loved her.
"I love you to, Si", she answered, and they said good night to each other.
Sandy went to bed thinking about Simon, but also in Nathaniel. She had accepted to see him, although she didn't know why. She could imagine what he wanted to tell her, but, the truth, she didn't know what she was going to tell him, And doubts surfaced again.
