The Kamel-Carrington Household

April 30, 2013

We reamained in Hidden Springs to know one of the most important families in this city, the Kamel-Carrington family.

Amin Kamel, who by the way was the mayor of Hidden Springs at that time, celebrated his firs anniversary as such, and his workmates threw a party in his honor at the Town Hall offices.

And Jane, his wife, celebrated two year working for the City Council as a Local Representative. She and Amin were supposed to be celebrating their work anniversaries together, as well as the moving to their new house, but they weren't, at a later time we'll find out why.

The new home of the Kamel-Carringtons was beautiful, big and comfortable. A house worthy of a mayor's family, perfect for their fundraisers and other social events.

Okay, now Amin felt really at home.
"Ah, Home, Sweet Home at last!"

Amin is a charismatic and successful politician, however, rumors had it that he had 'borrowed' money from the Mayor's Office to be able to buy his new mansion. But - who could believe such a thing about the innocent Amin.

Those rumors worried Jane cause, now that she thought about it - Where did the $75,000 for the house down payment come from? And what's worse - Would it ve true that they had seen Amin riding around the city, in his -also- new and expensive car, in the company of a young girl half his age...?

This is Sandy, Amin and Jane's only daughter, granddaughter of the famous Bella Bachelor. Within one day, she would become a young adult and would attend the University. Her parents' golden dream. And hers too.

Sandy didn't even imagined the problems their parents were going through. She could only think about her birthday party and that immediately after she would leave for College. She was eager to run away from a house that almost every weekend was filled with people who could only talk about politics.

Everything was ready for the part. Or almost everything. Jane would need a butler, cause the house is so big and she's such a busy woman. She wished she could get one that same day. Other thing that worried Jane was her physical appearance."Hm, maybe I'm going to need plastic surgery. Sure Amin is able to pay for the best surgeon, ssince he suddenly has so much money."

Sandy had her worries too. One of them was that she would not be able to take his adored cat Sony to to Uni with her.

And the other one was, that she had to leave her boyfriend Simon. First, because he was younger than her and couldn't go to college yet. That would keep them apart while he became a young adult too. Second, because both their fathers: Amin Kamel and Tony Langerak, didn't get along well as of late. But - why was that if they had always been such good friends?

The only one that knows why is Jane, but she nevers talk about that. Adults and their secrets!

Anyway, the next day during the party, Sandy had to say goodbye to Simon, which made Amin happy cause he didn't want that relationship to continue. And somehow he was right, cause, in the midst of all the intertwining of generations, it turned out that Simon was Sandy's nephew.

The night fell over Hidden Springs. The preparations for the party are over.

Jane woke up suddenly at 2 am.
"Oh, no, I forgot to hire the butler. Where will I get one at this hour?"

Fortunately, the City Hall Employment Agency was able to get her one. He arrived around 3 am, ready to work and in time to make breakfast.

Sandy was glad that her mother's new assistant was a man. She had lost count of how many cleaning girls Jane had had to fire because Amin flirted with all of them. Mid-life crisis, they call it.

And there was Amin, grumping Y ahí estaba Amin grumbling in the kitchen.
"So the new assistant is a guy, huh? Well, I hope he at least knows how to cook".

They had only been in the new mansion for a few hours and Sandy already missed the old days in the little house on Poplar Drive, when they didn't have a butler and they weren't celebrities; when her father wasn't the mayor and her mother dreamed every day with becoming the President.

"Fortunately, as soon as the party is over, I'm leaving for the University. There I would at last be able to forget about all this".

Of course she had invited her besties to the party. One of them was Simon's sister, Jessica.

The other one was Kay Huan, whose  mother, Elisa Goth, is Sandy's father's cousin.

Jessica and Sandy are friends since childhood, but 'Jessie', as she call her lovingly is a few years younger than her.

Kay is also younger than Sandy, so they won't be able to go to Uni together. As big and complicated as the family is, Kay and Sandy turn out to be Jessie's aunts, since Jessie's grandfather Milton is the cousin of Sandy's father and Kay's mother. What a tangled family tree!

Tony Langerak, Jessica and Simon's father, is Sandy's third cousin, therefore, Simon was her nephew and that was what made their relationship so complicated. It was a drama, not only for Sandy, but for the whole Kamel family, a drama that only time would be able to solve.
