Memories of May 2, 2013
Sandy's birthday party was about to beging. It was still very cold but at least it had stopped snowing.
The first guests started to arrive, among them Amin's brother Anwar and his wife Noelle; and Samantha Karnes, the wife of Milton Langerak's, who, for some reason wasn't able to attend...
By the way, uncle Anwar and his wife Noelle look always so much in love!
"Why can't my parents be like them?", Sandy wondered, as she looked at them from a distance. Farah, their daughter and her cousin, hadn't attended cause she had moved to Monte Vista where she had married the singer Robert Remington, known as Roberto Rayo. What a luck!
Another guest who was first to arrive was of course Sandy's boyfriend, Simon.
Simon and Sandy would soon have to separate, so she could go to the University. They still didn't know if their relationship would survive the distance.
The time has come to blow out the candles on the cake.
Sandy, celebrating her great moment with her father, her grandmother Bella and her aunt Samantha.
Simon and her sister Jessica were celebrating too, along with their father, the famous adventurer Tony Langerak. Sandy's cousin Alexandra and her aunt Mona were there too.
Of course, great-grandfather Farid was there as well. He never misses a family party.
The moment everyone was waiting for...
And Sandy became a young adult.
During the party, Amin's phone wouldn't stop ringing. Some work matter, or maybe a fan? Whatever the reason, Jane didn't like it at all.
The party was over relatively early. The guests left just in time, cause it had started to snow again.
The one who had been calling Amin was his niece and protégé. Shantel Langerak. Amin went to see her the next day and took the opportunity to complain to her for not attending Sandy's party.
"How was I supposed to be in spirits to go to a party after your lovely wife fired me from the Consignation Store?", Shantel complained as well.
Amin wasn't surprised Jane had done such a thing. She didn't like Shantel due to the rumors about the two of them.
"Now you'll have to get me another job. I need it urgently or I won't be able to cover the rent of the apartment!", the angry Shantel added.
"Easy, babe, I'll get you another one as soon as possible. And don't worry about the apartment rent, I'll take care of it. Now sorry but I can't stay, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
Amin's words calmed Shantel, who, already happier, began to flirt with him, something Amin could hardly resist.
But he resisted, and even when Shantel begged him to stay the night, he didn't accept. He couldn't do that to Jane. Mind you, he'd had his little affairs here and there, but hI had never spent a single night away from home, except when he went on 'business trips', of course.
Back home, safe and sound. and with a clear conscience -- for today.
Even with the years, and all the problems, he continued to love only Jane".
"I think you know it is so, Jane".
Of course Jane knows it is so. And besides, she does not intend to leave him in the arms of another woman. It has been years, It's been so many years, and so many successes together to break up now.
Amin didn't notice that Sandy was in the garden and had seen him arrive.
"Where was Dad coming from? And why has he been behaving this mysterious lately? Has he got into some trouble? Sandy could rest easy, Amin had gotten into so many problemas in his life, but somehow he always knew how to get out of them.
