A Twist of Fate for Mrs. Racket

Shortly before the baby was born, Mona had another problem with Shark. That morning, when she went to get the mail, she found a gift for him with a note that read: "I was thinking of you and I thought you'd like this. Call me soon!" - Amber" Amber! Isn't that the name of her nephew Kurt's wife??"

So Amber Langerak... Okay. To get even, Mona wrote a romantic letter to Vincent Steel, expressing her admiration for him and the wish to see him again. She knows that wasn't at all right, but she was so angry with Shark... She doesn't even think Vincent will answer.

  

When the baby came she was home alone, Shark was still at work, Mona called him, he said he was on his way to the hospital right away, then she called a cab. She doesn't think Shark's presence will be really necessary, but if he insists...

It was a girl! They named her Sharona, but they called her 'Sharon'. Mona is ecstatic, but now she has to make her decision regarding her relationship with Shark.

Too bad she hasn't heard about Vincent yet. That's obvious, Vincen is married. What did she expect?

Mona doesn't know if she'll see Vincent again, or if there could be something between them. What she is sure of is she's not interested in fixing her relationship with Shark. So she decided to break up with him. Maybe it isn't the best moment for that, but the love she used to feel for him is gone. She asked him for a divorce and left the house taking Sharona with her.

As she didn't have where to go, she has gone to the only place where she feels totally safe and protected: her granparents' home. She called them earlier and explained them the situation. Despite the sadness they felt for what happened to her granddaughter's marriage, Kim y Farid were thrilled to have her. And Sultan too, in fact he was the first to welcome her.

Grandma immeditely fixed a delicious breakfast, during which Mona told them all what have happened and her reasons for divorcing Shark. They understood and reiterated to her their unconditional support.

Grandpa was fascinated with his great-granddaughter. He did not leave her side all day long.

That afternoon, Mona was promoted to Awkwardly Close Zoomer in her work. She's been doing well in her career as a Photographer. As if this wasn't enough, at the Beauty Salon she ran into Vincent, she invited him home and he accepted! Mona is excited, she hopes her grandparents won't disapprove of him.

 

Grandpa interrogated Vincent as he arrived. He naturally doesn't like his granddaughter dating a married guy. Plus, he still has hope that things between Mona and Shark get fixed.

Of course, Farid could notice that Vincent isn't a bad person. Besides, he liked the fact that he was a sculptor and declared himself a fan of Farid's son Karim. The chemistry between Vincent and grandpa was instant and undeniable. Much better than with Shark!

 

Mona made Shawarma for dinner. Farid couldn't stop talking about his old home and his huge family tree.

Vincent had a great time chatting with Farid. It's obvious that they liked each other. Grandma arrived a little late, she had attended the Alisha Cho's party, but she didn't want to miss Vincent's visit. She was curios about him and it lookds like she approved him, but just as a friend of Mona's. She has hope she and Shark will make up, cause she thinks of little Sharona's well-being.

To her grandparents dissapointment, and as it was to be expected, things between Mona and Shark didn't work out. Divorce happened quickly, Mona kept her daughter's custody, but she lost half of her Bookstore. Now she isn't the only owner, and Shark is now her business partner, not pleasant at all! Ah, if she could buy his share!

Days later, luck smiled upon Mona. She got another promotion, now she is a Social Network Profile Photographer, and she already has a reputation in the Photograph Industry. Her career is going full steam ahead! Plus, grandma made a loan to her, with which she was able to buy Shark's share of the Library. Now she's the absolute owner of the business again. She won't have to put up with Shark hanging around the Bookstore, except if he needs to buy a boo, that is. Mona is very thankful with her grandparents, and is so happy to live with them, but she can't stop thinking about Vincent... 

Days later, she found ran into him outside the City Hall. It had snowed all night, the snow was coverting the streets completely. As Vincent is a sculptor, he couldn't resist to build a snowman and Mona gladly helped him. It was so much fun!

After finishing the snowmen, even with the cold, Mona and Vincent didn't miss the opportunity to flatter each other. It seems like this is going a bit faster. Mona can't stop flirting and Vincent corresponds her. She hasn't forgotten that he's married, and deep inside that matters to her, cause she's seriously interested in him. Apparently, that interest is  mutual! Vincent has just asked her if they could go to a more private place, where they can be alone, talk, listen to music, dance... maybe?

Mona didn't think twice and took him to the Mountain Retreat, one of the nicest places in Hidden Springs. Vincent found it perfect. Wow, what a beautiful landscape!

Inside the cabin, the atmospher was warm and cozy, the music was slow. While they danced, Mona and Vincent Mientras bailaban, Mona and Vincent talked at lenght about their lives, their jobs, their children - Vincent has two, Omar and Mandy. They even asked each other for their zodiac signs. She's a Leo; him, a Taurus.

Later they went outside to watch the stars. Vincent continued to whisper things in her ear. As the evening went by, botth started to feel more and more comfortable and in confidence with each other.

Until Mona couldn't resist and took the first step.

Vincent responded instantly. The night became more than romantic. Things started to escalate, everything indicated that Vincent would not be satisfied with just a kiss.

Mona had to stop him. What she feels for him is real, but she doesn't want to go ahead without knowing what will happen with Vincen'ts marrige. She doesn't want to continue dating a married man.

"Is it my marital status that worries you? Well, tomorrow I will talk to Dahlia to ask her for a divorce".

"Will  you, Vince?"

"Yeah."

Mona took Vincent's words as a promise. That was enough for her so... what had to happen happened.

Mona and Vincent spent the night together at the cabin. In the morning she was worried, not only for what her grandparents would think of her, but for what Vincent would think... He guessed her thoughts. 

"Please Mona, stop worrying, I'll talk to Dahlia today and as soon as she grants me a divorce, we'll get married".

"You promise?"
"I promise".

Vincent's words were music to Mona's ears.

They arrived home at dawn. Mona's grandparents and Sharona are of course still sleeping.

They said a long goodbye to each other, with lots of hugs and kisses. That will be hoy for today, Vincen can't stay and a hard day is waiting for him. But if everything goes well, they will soon be together forever. Vincent can't live with her at her grandparents home, so they will move to their own house and later, when he is free, they will get married.

If all that happens, Mona and little Sharon will soon -at last- have a true home. This is no doubt Mona's happiest day in life.
