Mona's Dilemma

Memories of January 19, 2013 Continue...

The Rackets are back in Hidden Springs. It's time to return to normal life and start in their respective jobs.

Mona already has her camera and a book about Photograpy, so she hurried to register herself as a Photographer. She should be excited, but the truth is she doesn't feel very good. Early this morning he caught Shark chatting with someone on the internet, a woman for a change. So soon he was back to his old ways?

 

When she got home she complained with him of course.

"Who were you chatting with this morning, Shark?"

"With no one, I swear top you!"

"You were chatting with no one?"

"Well, I mean, she was just a friend".

"A friend, yeah right!"

"Okay she was an ex girlfriend, but it was nothing. Really. Come on, Mona, forgive me!"

"Alright, I... forgive you", Mona replied, but when Shark tried to hug her... "Oh no, don't touch me. I'm not in the mood".

 "You're not in the mood? What do you mean? I just apologized to you!", Shark complained.

"Even so, I need time".

 Shark got angry: "You're behaving like a diva, that's what you think you are, but you're nothing but daddy's little spoiled brat".

That was enough. Mona left the room, angrier that before. nojada que antes. Well, the honeymoon has officially ended. The fights have started again.

Mona, besides being jealous, is very spiteful.. As always, she's finding it hard to forgive Shark. On top of this, she has started to feel nauseous and she doesn't think it is because of the rocking chair.

Shark isn't spiteful, but he prefers to leave her alone and give her the time she asked for to see if she . gets over her anger.

But by the evening, Mona still wouldn't talk to Shark, that's why he decided to call his brother in law, Amin, to see if he could do somthing, like talking to Mona, maybe. As expected, Amin refused to come:

 "It's your wife now, this is between you and her, do your best", he told him.

Shark had just hung up when Mona rushed into the bathroom. She doesn't look well... Is it because of the argument they had or... is it what he is thinking?

"Nah, she must have gotten sick from her tantrum".

Later, during the pool party at the Langeraks house, Mona continued to be angry. Shark is starting to feel tired of the situation.

He tried to approach her again, and again Mona rejected him.

"No, no, no, no. Don't touch me now!"

And then she got sick again. Nausea, dizziness... It will be best to return home.

She fell asleep in the rocking chair.

After a short nap, she woke up worried. Only one thought is on her mind: this new marriage with Shark isn't working. Didn't work before, why would it now?

Early in the morning, her discomfort disappeared momentarily, but she had to go down to the kitchen beacuse she was craving ice cream. Thank goodness she has this ice cream machine that her cousin Elisa gave her as a wedding present.

The next day, Mona confirmed her suspiciouns: she was pregnant. That is why the nausea, the hunger, the sleepines and the cravings were. Mona feels excited, it's true, but she admits this isn't a good moment for having a child. Anyway, there is no going back. At work she was given maternity leave.  Now she has to tell Shark.

Shark is excited. A child? Good! No he will not only be a parent (at last), but Mona will be happy, she'll have something to entertain herself with and that probably changes her mood. What an approach from Shark. 

"Now that Mona's mind is set on her pregnancy, I will be able to sit down and write my articles in peace". Yeah, sure, also he would be able to chat with his 'friends'.

It's sad, but Shark is right, Mona has left him alone to think only about her baby. She's been preparing everything for his arrival. Also, she has dedicated part of her time to write notes for her relatives and friends to thank them for their wedding presents.

Among the things that entertain Mona while expecting the baby are cooking and eating. Her appetite has recently increased. Like they say she eats for two now.

A few days before giving birth, at the bookstore, Mona had an unexpected encounter with Vincent Steele, the newly arrived sculptor from Starlight Shores, son of the famous singer Myriam Royale. Mona was really impressed with him, and it seems like the same happened to him. None of the two imagined at that moment that this meeting would change their lives forever.

 

Mona can't stop thinking about Vincent, in his smile, in their nice conversation; on how handsome and interesting he is. She knows Vincent is married and, even when things are going bad with Shark, she's married too. Besides, the baby is about to come, she can't leave Shark now. Maybe she should try to fix things, but - even so she would like to know Vincent better. What a dilemma! Mona will have to make a choice and soon!
