The Groundskeeper Journal

Memories of November 2, 2012 Continue

The former groundskeeper of the Landgraab estate, Willard Leroo, kept a journal that contained first-hand information about the disappearence of Anastasia Necteaux. Gustave Delven asked me to return to goto the Landgraab Chateau, recover the journal and deliver to him. I should look inside the shack in the back of the manor, behind which there was a staircase that led to the basement. There, on a table I'd found a heart-shaped  keystone. With it I should open the front door of the shack, go inside, take everything inside the chest and then, deliver the journal. But -- surprise! The journal was locked. It wasn't going to be as easy as we thought it would be. Gustave was sure that Willard's daughter, Aimeé Lefebvre, who lives in Champs Les Sims, had the key to the journal. He asked me to convince her to lend it to me, tellling her that would be of help for the City".

Aimeé Lefebvre: By giving you the key, I'll help the town? Of course I'll help you. Oh no! I'm not one to miss an opportunity either. I will need a favor, first. My current collection of jewelry has goten old. I need something new, something fresh! Go find 2 pieces of gold and bring them to me. Hurry along now if you want the key!

For Aimeé to hand me the key I'd have to get her the gold, good thing my house is closer now.

I didn't find the gold right away, so I set up to study french cooking recipes. That made my Cooking skill rise to Level 9. Now I was able to fix French Toast and Dim Sum.

The next day, I went out to search for gold for Aimeé Lefebvre's ring.

When I finally found it, I went straight away to hand it to her, and...

"A nice ring is nothing without a fantastic jewel on top. Please, find me Amethyst and bring it to me. I'll change the key to my father's journal for the gem".

Thank goodness I found the Amethyst quickly.
"You can have the key to the journal, though I'd appreciate it if Gustave Delven would return the key and journal to me when finished with it. I should deliver it to Margot Petit as soon as possible".

"Excellent, I can finally open this journal. Let me see here... fascinating! It seems there was quite the ruckus many years ago. At one point some shady looking men dragged someone into the chateau. The famous James Vaughan went in to save the person who... yes, turned out to be Anastasia Necteaux".

During the journal quest I found the last relic for the Dangerous Creatures collection.

At this point I was starving, thank God there was some food in the kitchen of the chateau.

And I fell asleep in one of the sofas of the second floor, but when I woke up...

A hidden door! I had to find out what was was behind it.

What was there was another electricity trap. My second electric shock so far during this trip. But again, I survived.

Luckily that night I was able to rest in a first class bed. The next day I felt much better, although a bit worried about the traps, which, apparently, were everywhere in the chateau.

So, before continuing my mission, I drank a Liquid Courage Potion.

   "There! Now come those traps!

When I got to them, I could cross them easily.

"At the top of the stairs you will find two doors on your left. Behind the simple white door there's a chest; behind the double door is what you are looking for. Take whatever you want from the first chest, then go through the double door and take the Orders of the Admiral from the shining chest".

After a short search, I found the chest right where Gustave had told me.

"Incredible! According to the Landgraab documents he was trying to locate the tomb of  Anastasia's ancestor, Jean Necteaux! Anastasia fooled him by sending men to the wrong location, and they were never seen ever again. That explains the sudden departure of Langraab after the kidnapping. He didn't want anyone to find out. Well the facts will soon be clarified in my new book. Thanks again for your efforts!"
