Dean is the second son of John and Aimee Goth. He was born in Hidden Springs, as were his other siblings: Alexandra, Billy and Jasper. He studied Fine Arts at the University because he wanted to dedicate himself to music, especially the guitar. Dean had many girlfriends, the first one was Shantel Langerak, a passionate and fleeting romance; he was also Michelle Cho's boyfriend, a long and almost formal relationship, which ended abruptly when Michelle found out that he had cheated on her with three girls from the University.
After breaking up with Michelle, Dean moved to Bridgeport, where he met Dahlia Hamming, ex-wife of the young sculptor Vincent Steele. With her he had a long and steamy affair, which ended when Dean fell in love with actress Tiara Angelista. Tiara became pregnant and Dean had to confess to Dahlia and tell her he had to give his child a home by marrying Tiara. Dahlia was very angry and threw him out of her house and her life. It was a painful separation, especially for Dahlia, as Dean had been like a father to Omar and Mandy, the children from his first marriage.
Dean married Tiara, but soon after he found out that Dahlia had also become pregnant, so he had two sons, Jared (with Tiara) and Elijah (with Dahlia) at practically the same time.
