Kelly and Dale smoke together in silence for a few seconds, Dale is thinking about how to approach the next topic: their possible move out of the dorm. He tries not to make eye contact so that his gaze doesn't give him away in case Kelly asks too many questions and he has to tell a few little lies. 

Dale: Okay now let's move on to the really important topic.

Kelly: And that would be…?

Dale: Us and this dorm. All indications are that Riley won't be leaving, so I think we should start thinking about a good place to move to.

Kelly: Move? Us? Can't you just kick her out of here?

Dale: No.

Kelly: Why not? Didn't your brother give you a solution, or advice on how to get rid of her?

And that's precisely the reason Dale didn't want to make eye contact yet. If Kelly knew what Terry advised him and why he advised such a thing!

Dale: Er - no, Terry can't do anything. Riley is his senior partner's daughter and he doesn't want to get in trouble with him, so he just...

Kelly: So the bastard just washed his hands and abandoned you to your fate to protect his interests. Why am I not surprised?
