Dale: I didn't tell you any of this so as not to upset you, but since you insist on knowing, I'll tell you: as you already heard, Riley proposed that I sleep with her to leave the bedroom. Terry, you know him, he advised me to give Riley what she wanted, believe it or not, I rejected his advice and thought it was best for us to get out of here. I know it's not what you want, but it's the only way to put an end to this mess. That is all, it's up to you if you believe me or not, I have nothing more to say. Now if you don't mind, I have to go to my practice. Just please try to control yourself and don't go attacking Riley. We want to get out of this trouble, not get into more. 

And before Kelly could say anything, Dale hurried toward the exit. He'd had enough drama, plus, he was running late for his class.

As he crossed the room, he noticed that Sarah was gone. Riley was there alone and brooding, he ignored her and hurried past her to the door; she didn't say a word to him either.
