Time Traveler: Episodio #153 - CATCHING UP

TIME TRAVELER, PART TWO: BACK TO THE PAST.

Episode 153. CATCHING UP

February 2017, at the Shen headquarters:

It was almost mid-morning and Dustin was still glued to his computer screen. He had gotten up very early in the hope of being able to unlock once and for all the file on the flash drive that Robin had entrusted him with, but even though he had displayed all his knowledge and skills, he still didn't manage to get into the elusive document this time either.
"Damn," he mumbled, as he saw the same 'Locked. Enter Password' message once again in front of his eyes.

"Enough, it's time to call Captain Shen, aka my dad."
Without wasting any more time, he sent a message to his father, who would surely be in his study working by now.
"Dad, can we meet at your place? I need your urgent help with the file I told you about... if you're not busy, of course."
Dylan's response was not long in coming:
"I'm not, your mother just left for work and Logan is at school, so of course, I'll wait for you."
"Perfect, thank you Captain...".
"Yessssss," exclaimed Dustin, as he hit the send button.
"Dust?" said a female voice behind him.

Oh, no, he had completely forgotten that Judith was there, at home! She had arrived in Aurora Skies a few days ago and, today in particular, she was ready to go shopping, one of the activities she enjoyed most, besides spending time with Dustin, naturally..

"Honey, will you get off that computer already? You've been on there all morning," she claimed in a loving tone.
"I'm sorry, dear, I have a bit of work to do right now, but I promise I'll be just for you tonight."
"Really? You said the same thing yesterday. You've been in front of that screen for days."
"I apologize again, like I said, I'll be all yours in a few hours, first I have to go to dad's house to bring him a flash drive."
"And what about our shopping?"
"Well, why don't you go ahead and I'll catch up with you later at the mall?"

Dustin's loving, persuasive tone finally won Judith over.
"All right," she replied "But you'd better get there in time.
Don't worry, my dear, I'll fly if I have to to meet you. You know I will, literally.
"You mean with a jetpack?"
"And what else? Wait for me there, I won't be long at all, we'll spend the whole afternoon together and certainly the evening..."

"I'll be counting the minutes until then," Judith sighed, leaning closer.
"So will I," he mused.
"Dust?"
"Yes?"
"Are you sure you can't stay a little longer?"
"Well...I could let Dad know I'll be a little late."

The matter was not discussed further, Dustin postponed the visit to his father and forgot the flash drive in the computer.

The passionate moment continued in Dustin's old room. He and Judith had been apart for so long, that now that they were back together, they couldn't spend much time away from each other. That was the real reason he had been unable to move forward with his mission to unlock the file. It was not at all his intention to fail his friend Robin, but now he had found something more interesting than hacking government documents.
