Dale takes a minute to think about what he and Terence talked about. It didn’t turn out the way he expected. Okay, he asked him for advice and the one he gave him isn’t bad. He’s right, pleasing millionaire Woods’ daughter might be good for his business, but frankly it’s not what he had in mind, and besides, it would get him in a lot of trouble with Kelly.
Why, he himself said he’d do anything for a discount. But if he agrees to go to that event, Riley will invite him to another, and another. That wouldn’t be a problem for him, ‘cause he’s a party animal, but– what’s more important, pleasing Riley to earn her father’s favor, or preserving his relationship with Kelly? The answer is obvious.
By the time he gets into bed, he’s made his decision. Not only will he not go to that event with Riley, he will also start looking for another place to live. If Riley and Sarah want to keep the apartment, then let them. He doesn’t care anymore.
His last thought before going to sleep is for Kelly, who is also sleeping soundly. He will talk to her tomorrow to propose that they move in.
Dale: (In a quiet voice) Sleep tight, baby, tomorrow we’re out of here. We’ll get our privacy back and we won’t have to wear any stupid pajamas.
Just seconds later, they are both deeply asleep.
