"You've changed too, you know", Robin replied, placing his hand on Juliette's cheek.
"Really, in what way?" asked Juliette.
"Well, you seem calmer, more relaxed. You joke around more, and you don't just talk about your career and Science anymore."
"Becoming a mom had its advantages, it made me more aware of the world and the people around me."
"And prettier too" Robin said.
"Robin, stop it okay?" she begged, blushing.
"No, I mean it. You know, motherhood suited you. You look beautiful."
Juliette shivered, but didn't move an inch, mesmerized by this new version of Robin. What had that terrible accident done to him to turn him into this adorable being?
She didn't notice, but Robin was also inexplicably more attracted to her, and so his resolve not to cross certain boundaries vanished in seconds.
Unable to contain himself anymore, he moved closer and brushed his lips with hers. Juliette put up no resistance, anticipating the glory of a long-awaited kiss.
But unlike their previous encounter, this time it was Robin who reacted, moving away from her at once. And the sweet spell that for moments had enveloped them both was broken, leaving Juliette surprised and confused.
