Once near the door, Robin and Juliette's eyes met again.
"Can I give you a goodbye kiss?", he asked.
"Robin, I don't think we should..."
"Please? Just one?"
Juliette didn't think twice and put all her heart in that kiss. A kiss that, for the time being, was the only thing she could have from him.
When the kiss ended they gave each other a hug from which it was difficult for Juliette to pull away.
"You said we would talk some other day. When will that be?", Robin asked.
"I don't know, maybe next Saturday, not here of course".
"Okay, where?"
"I don't know yet, probably at the beach. And you'll have to be careful, you don't want the whole town to see you with me".
"I will be, don't worry".
"And it might be the last time we meet, until you fix your situation".
"Understood", Robin said, stroking her cheek. "I love you, Juliette, don't you forget it".
"I love you too. Don't you forget it either. Now for God's sake leave already", Juliette begged.
"Alright, I'll wait for your call. So long, dear", Robin said once at the door.
"So long", she whispered, struggling so that her voice wouldn't break.
"Goodbye, my love", she whispered as the door closed behind him.
How would she stand her life without him? How would she stand being near him knowing that he was married, that she wouldn't be able to kiss him or touch him again? That would be torture. Would she resist or would she fall in his arms like a fool? "This is your fault, Dustin. You shouldn't have gotten us together. Now what am I going to do?", she thought, as she went up the stairs to her bedroom for a well deserved rest. Although she probably woulnd't get to sleep at all that night.
