So, Katya was in trouble, she had just found that she was pregnant...
But her once peaceful marriage with Scot had ended.
Because Scot had cheated on her with the boss of both, Alora Platt.
Katya asked his father, Jason, for help, he of course gave her his unconditional support.
Even when he and Reneé were in the middle of a very similar situation. Remember they were already divorced, but they had made up, went back to living together and now they also were expecting a baby. At their age! Lol.
Anyway, in spite of their personal situation, Katya's parents received her at their home with open arms while she was going through the divorce proceedings.
And when the time came for Katya to have her baby.
There were Jason and Reneé, waiting patiently outside the hospital.
Correction: Reneé waited patiently, Jason was a nervous wreck.
"Calm down, honey, you're not new at this. You already have two daughter, one granddaughter and soon you'll be a Dad for the third time".
Time went by, and Katya and her daughter, Marcia, already a toddler, continued to live at Jason and Reneé's house.
Christie, their daughter and Katya's sister was already a toddler too.
Life went smoothly for the Langeraks. Jason and Reneé retired temporarily from their respective careers to take care of their daughter and granddaughter, while Katya returned to work. Then, something unexpected, and wonderful at the same time, happened.
Shayne Scroggins, Katya's ex boyfriend, finished his Science career, graduated and traveled to Starlight Shores, exclusively to look for her, after having been in contact with her by phone for months.
Katya and Shayne started to go out and to spend time together.
The sparkle of love reemerged between them and they became boyfriend and girlfriend again, this time more in love than ever.
Katya wondered, how could she have traded someone as romantic and fun as Shayne for a vain cheater like Scot? She didn't know, and fortunately it no longer mattered.
Shayne and Katya moved in together to a small house rented by both of them. Shayne wanted to marry her right away.
But Katya asked him to give her some more time to be completely sure. She didn't want to make the same mistake she had made with Scot.
She wanted to be sure that Marcia and Shayne got to know each other and got along well; see if Shayne was a good father for Marcia and for other kids they could have. But basically, things between them were going great. Katya left the hospital and now she worked full time as a scientist, like Shayne, which allowed them to pay a babysitter to look after Marcia.
Jason and Reneé now could sleep at ease. For the first time they agreed, cause they both approved of Shayne. Now they only hoped Katya would accept to get married. And they, in turn, would have to think about their future, since the family continued growing. Yes, Reneé was pregnant... again. She and Jason had decided to stay together to raise Christie, but now another baby was coming! Would they have to get married again? Would there be not one, but two weddings around the corner? That remained to be seen.
