The Kamel's Fundraiser Party

Memories of May 8, 2013

After graduating in the University, Sandy received a warm welcome from her parents, Jane and Amin.

She's still looking for an apartment of her own, so she would stary at the parental home for the moment. This made Amin and Jane very happy, since that same night they would throw a fundraiser party for their corresponding political campaigns.

Before starting to get ready for the party, Sandy spent a few minutes with his dear cat, Sony.
"Hi, Sony, did you miss me? Cause I missed you a lot". Sandy was a bit sad cause she had just found out that Simon wouldn't attend, plus she didn't know when they could see each other again, but she tried not to think about it for now.

Hours later, the guests started to arrive. There were Parker Langerak and his son Milton. Simon's great-grandfather and grandfather.

John Goth arrived as well. He's Myra and Mortimer's firstborn son and a renowned surgeon.

And his always-beautiful wife, Aimee. She and John are Alexandra and Dean's parents. The Goth's are one of the richest families in Hidden Springs. That night alone they donated an amount close to the 4,500 simoleons for the Kamels' campaign.

Among the younger guests were the Huan sisters, Gwyneth and Kay Huan, Sandy's cousins and super friends.

With them was their mother, the gorgeous Elisa Goth, sister of John Goth and cousin of the host, Amin Kamel. She was accompanied by her handsome husband, Professor Gan Huan.

Gan is not as reach as his wife, but een so he made a donation of  $1,068, while Elisa contributed withj $2,695 from her own pocket. Besides, since they are both prominent scientists, they were invited by Amin and Jane to join their campaign team. A great distinction coming from the mayor and the first lady of Hidden Springs.

Almost at the same time arrived Tanya, Amin's half sister, her father Karim - Sandy's grandfather-, and Alexandra Goth-Langerak. Aunt Tanya contributed with 2,522 simoleons, and the splendid Karim disbursed 3,200.

Alexandra made a donation of no less than $5,482 on behalf of her and her husband Cornell Langerak. Not only is she one of the richest cousins, but she is also one Sandy's most beloved.

Late but certain, Gwyneth Goth's husband Calvin Dipperson arrived to the reunion. Amin looks favorably on him since he's a possible contender, although, luckily for him, he will not run for the next elections. But in the future, who knows, Amin, as a good politician, preferrs to have him on his side. After all they are in the same party.

And Calvin is a good politican too, since, after spending the evening talking about politics with the his host, he got him to appoint him as his campaign coordinator. A great opportunity for someone that is just starting his career. Calvin was so happy that he was one of the last to leave the party, plus he donated 6,295 simoleons to Amin and Jane's campaigns.

Another distinghished guest was Davy Cho, Tanya's husband, semi-retired superstar, father of William, Miranda and Michelle Cho. Davy doesn't know much about politics, music is his business, but even so, he contributed with a generous donation of $4,253.

Even with the presence of so many celebrities and the magnificent donations, Sandy didn't look very happy. It was logical, she missed Simon's presence, but sadly, he had to go with his father to one of his trips.

Form Simon's family only his brother Daniel attended. As there was a lot of famous people among the guests, he spent the night taking pictures with his mobile phone.  Daniel  -like Simon- was abaoput to finish High School and both were getting ready to go to the University.

Daniel's grandfather, Milton Langeerak, left early cause he had to attend another appointment with his wife mother, Samantha. Before leaving, Milton donated 4,840 simoleons.

Daniel left along with his grandfather, but first he delivered a check for the amount of  $3,386 simoleons sent by his parents Tony y Cassandra Langerak; as well as greetings and hugs for Sandy from his sister Jessica, who hadn't been able to attend either. The Kamels of Hidden Springs are such a large family that it is difficult to bring them all together at once.

Kay is almost still a child, but she did not want to stay behind and she donated $800 from her own pocket, which adaded to her parents' donations. The Huans, including Gwyneth and Calvin, were the lasts to leave, after a long and lively conversation.

Although Amin is almost always the get all the spotligh, this campaign is also about Jane, who is running for Senator this time, but everybody knows that her biggest dream if to become the President some day. Perhaps later on... after Amin.

Though Sandy wishes her parents all the luck in the world with their politic careers, truth is, deep inside she'd like them to be just like any other family; and that there were no fundraising parties almost every month.

Ferby looked tired. Fortunately everybody was gone now. But of course, he still had to clean the mess, but he would do that early tomorrow.

As Sandy is already a grown up, she finally could order a drink at house party. A Sorrow Disipator was in order this time. Donell, her father's trusted barman, advised her not to drink it too fast. Ah, if Donell knew all the 'juice' Sandy drank at the Uni...

Even so, she followed Donell's advice and drank it slowly, while her mother relaxed in the hot tub. Her father had already gone to bed, he was drained. Thank god he hadn't got in trouble during the party. He probably wanted to protect his image for the campaign and besides, fortunately, her dear Shantel hadn't attended. What a relief!

After a few sips of her Sorrow Disipator, Sandy started to spill her sorrows with Donell. He listened to her to the end. I hope I didn't bore you, Donny".
Oh, don't you worry miss Kamel, you know I'm all ears".

Finally, the bar closed, Donell left and so did Sandy. The Kamel mansion was quiet again. Amin's party had been a success, the guests had a blast and the most important: Amin and Jane raised a total of $50,924 simoleons for their campaigns. Not bad for being only the beginning!
