As the date of Gwyneth and Calvin's wedding was approaching, another wedding was about to take place in Hidden Springs, one that had been very awaited and carefully planned.
We're talking, of course, about Alexandra Goth and Cornell Langerak's wedding. They were both the firstborns of two very distinguished and beloved families from Sunset Valley, which now lived in Hidden Springs. Naturally, the Goths, the Langeraks and other families equally well known would be invited to this great event.
Everything was ready for the big day, Alexandra and Cornell had been taken care of down to the smallest detail. The wedding would be outdoors, hoping the weather would continue as sunny and wonderful as it had been until that morning.
Luckily, Aimee and Camille, the mothers of the bride and groom were both Five Star Chefs so they were in charge of everything related to the banquet, including the delicious cakes and the table decoration.
And Cornell was in charge of seeing that the house would be totally renovated and painted for the great day.
Days before, upon their arrival from Monte Vista and after their Graduation, Cornell had formalized his relationship with Alexandra, proposing marriage to her and giving her an engagement ring.
Although they had been lived together since a long time ago, for Alexandra this meant the world. Cornell was the love of her life, or rather, her only love, since their high school days.
When the date finally arrived, Alexandra was a little anxious, only a few hours before was still checking to make sure that nothing was missing and that every detail was in place. Soon the guests would start to arrive.
One of the first to arrive was Dean. He had made a long trip from Bridgeport only to be with his sister in such important moments. Minutes before the ceremony he expressed to her his best wishes.
Aimee and Camille, the mothers, arrived before anyone else, they looked very beautiful, elegant and ready to help in whatever was necessary.
Alexandra's father, John and in the background, his mother Myra, Alexandra's grandma, looking as youthful as always, even with her age.
Alexandra's ultimate idol, her grandfather Mortimer Goth. In the back, Robert Langerak, Cornell's father.
Always beautiful and full of energy, Layla Langerak arrived early as well. She's Robert's mother and Cornell's grandmother.
Alexandra, like a total responsible woman, even in her wedding day was checking her messages from work. She also got greetings from some of her cousins that are abroad, like Miranda, Michelle and William Cho.
Finally the moment came to start the ceremony, the guests took their seats.
Dean Goth and great-grandfather Farid didn't want to miss any detail. Meanwhile, the mixologist prepared the drinks for the toast.
Cornell was already in his post under the wedding arch. waiting impatiently for his beloved bride.
Alexandra was eager as well to pronnounce her 'I do'. But the two had to wait until everybody was welll installed in their seats.
At last the ceremony began.
"I, Alexandra, take you Cornell to be my husband..."
"I, Cornell, take you Alexandra, to be my wife..."
His phone started to ring in the middle of the solemn moment. How inopportune! Obviously Cornell ignored the call.
Alexandra and Cornell were now united in matrimony.
There was applause, tears, flower petals, rice and shouts of: "Up with the bride and groom!"
"You may now kiss the bride" was Cornell's favorite part.
Alexandra and Cornell were now Mr. and Mrs. Langerak, the fourth generation.
In the background, grandma Myra was watching them from her seat, happy to see her granddaughter married with a young man as fine and handsome as Cornell. Both are the children of two renowned families, but the best of all is that you can tell their love is true.
John Goth, Alexandra's father looked happy too.
Robert Langerak was also very moved, so much that he couldn't help shedding a few tears. Aimee Goth, on the other hand was beaming. "Well, at least my little Alexandra achieved what I never could: to marry a Langerak". What a thought from Aimee! She was thinking of Milton, naturally, not Robert.
Great-grandpa got sentimental too. That afternoon he was accompanied by his great-grandson Simon Langerak, who attended in representation of his father, Tony Langerak, Cornell's second cousin. Great-grandmother Kim called to say she'd be a little late, due to her work obligations.
Dean was equally happy for his sister, but the Langerak surname still brought him not very pleasant memories.
Suddenly, he discovered Farid looking at him from his spot, with that typical great-grandfather gaze. "You are next, son", he told him with a wink, and smiled.
"Sorry, great-grandfather, but I will never ever get married. Never, I swear".
Grandpa Mortimer burst out with laughter. "Never, huh? We'll see!"
(What were his two grandpas, fortune tellers?)
