The Goths and the Chos, to Uni

Monte Vista, March 27, 2013

Not only Alexandra Goth and her boyfriend Cornell Langerak lived in Monte Vista, some of their relatives, also from Hidden Springs, were there preparing to go to the Universidad.

 

One of them was Dean Goth, Alexandra's brother, who really wanted to be a musician, but he promised his father and his grandfather that he would attend College, though it would be the first Goth not to follow a Science or Technology career, but a Fine Arts one.

Then there was Gwyneth Huan, Dean and Alexandra's cousin; daugther of Elisa Goth and Gan Huan. Gwyneth was equally interested in Art and Science. She'd decide which of the two to study when she took her aptitude test.

While the time came to take the exam, Gwyneth would share the Monte Vista house with Dean and two more cousins...

One of them was William Cho, the son of Davy and Tanya Cho. Her mother is Gwyneth's mother cousin. William had worked for a while as a firefighter, but he wanted to study the Physical Education career to be better at his job.

The other one was Michelle, William's sister. By the way, they're both siblings of Miranda Cho, the famous Starlight Shores singer. Michelle came to Monte Vista to follow her boyfriend -and cousin- Dean Goth, without even knowin what she was going to study at the University, since her wish was to be a famous singer, like her older sister.

The day after their arrival, they would take their aptitude exams, so everybody went to bed early.

During the night, Michelle dreamed with her future great musical career.

Dean got up first since he was starving. Fortunately he found a piece of lasagna in very good condition.

And since he was already awake, he started immediately with the aptitude test.

He wasn't that bad, Award for Distinction in Fine Arts, and +18 credits.

  Gwyneth preferred to enjoy her coffee before taking the exam.

Dean had breakfast for the second time. Apparently his nervousness about the exam whetted his apettite again.

The next to take the exam was William. Everything turned out to be more difficult than he thought. But even so, he put all his effort in it.

    

The result: Award for Technology Apprentice and Science Apprentice, both of +6 credits. Well, it wasn't bad at all.

Michelle was still sleeping, so it was Gwyneth's turn. She was so excited about Uni, that she even wore the Llamas team t-shirt.

Unbelievable. Even though he had done so poorly in high school, Gwyneth earned awards for Fine Arts Apprentice and Physical Education Apprentice, and 12 credits in total. She promised this time she would make the most of time and study a lot, so her parents could feel proud of her.

Finally, Michelle's turn arrived. She really didn't have the slightest idea of what to answer in the exam, but at least she'd try. 

"Hmm, let's see... Yes, no, no".

Michelle took so long answering the test, that Gwyneth and William, were starting to get impatient.

 Dean preferred to play, so he wouldn't be as nervous for his girlfriend's delay.

Michelle finished at last, Her achievements: Fine Arts Apprentice and +6 credits. That was all. Well, it could've been worse. At least she was admitted.

"My love, I passed the exam, I'm going to Uni with you!"

Apparently, all that mattered to her was to go Dean

Truth is, none of the two are interested in studying. Dean wants to be a musician, and Michelle a singer. Their cousins aren't scholarly either. What Gwyneth wants is to be a Painter and William, a firefighter . But they all promised their parents that they would go to the University. How would it go? We would see.

   Before leaving for the Uni, the four agreed to go for a ride. It was summer and they wanted to make the most of their last day in Monte Vista.

To Michelle's disappointment, Dean couldn't go with them cause he had already gotten a temporary job as a musician and he had to show up at work that morning. William, Michelle and Gwyneth however, didn't miss this wonderful, sunny day.

Gwyneth had fun playing with William.

 

Michelle didn't have as much fun as they did cause she missed Dean.

The pool was huge and the place was beautiful, too bad they couldn't stay there forever.

After swimming the whole afternoon, they went to dinner to a the Flying V Coffee House. Yes they have a branch in Monte Vista.

And the night fell...

Around 10 pm, they started their return home. The three were very tired and they had to leave for the University early in the morning.

William offered to prepare some food for the next day. Apparently he was the only one who knew something about cooking.

And for his first cheese bread made in a stone oven, it turned out pretty good.

At least Dean approved of it, since, as always, he is starving. William, on the other hand, is dead sleepy.

Dean: Wow, cousin, this bread is first class.

William: Thanks. Well, bon appetite, I'm dead, I'm going to bed.  

  They are all sleeping now. Peace reigns once again in the Monte Vista house. Tomorrow is full of uncertainty, but also of great excitement.
