Karen arrived to the University with Dylan, who had saved enough money to rent a small, though independent house. He'd have to get another job to continue with the payments along the trimester.
Their new home wasn't exactly fancy, they would have to make some changes, but at least they wouldn't have to live in that mad house that was the Rebels dormitory.
The day of their arrival was snowing heavily, so they spent most of the day at home, studying and preparing for the first day of school.
Already at the Meet & Greet, Karen entertained herself with the arcade machines.
She played a table tennis match with one of her professors.
Meanwhile, Dylan met a very special paparazzi.
She was extraordinary - literally.
He met as well Cid Serverus, a rebel vampire, kind of snooty, and with a very bad temper.
Karen was disgusted too when meeting Cid. He seemed nice at the beginning, but then he became impertinent since, being a vampire, he tried to intimidate her.
But Karen is not someone to be frightened at all. This blonde has a temper!
Dylan met again with Sharon Dorsey, the gorgeous plantsim and he wouldn't leave her side for the rest of the gathering. Boy, was he impressed.
The next morning at last it stopped snowing and a huge rainbow peeked through the gray clouds.
The classes went on normally for Karen. At exit, she and Dylan were invited to the moody vampire Cid Serverus' party. He lives in one of the best dorms in the University. When the classes were over, Karen ran over there.
The party dress code was swimwear - with this snow and freezing cold -. Cid wasn't in sight, he had been complaining cause he was very hungry. Karen knew well what the vampires feed on, she rather kept away from him. So he went to the living room to chat with Paul Biden, who, to tell the truth, wasn't paying her any attention. Too bad, cause she thought he was very handsome.

For his part, Dylan chatted with Waverly Chen, another rebel that didn't behave very friendly. Everyone in this dormitory are kind of cocky.
The party didn't end well. Suddenly, Cid started to scream, He had been complaining that he was hungry, as he was a vampire, he couldn't just eat what the others eat. In a matter of minutes he got really bad and finally he started to... disintegrate!
It was a shocking spectacle. Karen was horrified, just like the others. Only insensitive Paul Biden found that funny. He couldn't stop laughing, maybe he was nervous. Karen didn't like his attitude, it wasn't a moment to laugh! Dead is a part of life, but that doesn't mean it isn't painful - and very shocking for Cid's friends and guests.
Nicole Lawry, Cid's la novia de Cid, looked really affected. Good samaritan Dylan went to console her. "Hi, I am Dylan. If you need anything..."
"Dylan? Dylan who? Do I know you?"
Of course, Nicole Lawry, another snooty roommate from the snooty dorm.
Other than snooty, Nicole was too attractive and Dylan very impressionable, so Karen decided they had to leave now. They both put on their outwear, grabbed their backpacks and headed for the exit.
After what happened with Cid, the news will surely spread all around campus. It may even come to the attention of the police, so Dylan agreed the best was to leave right away.
Already at home, Karen was exhausted and still shocked by Cid's death. She hopes not to have to see his ghost wandering around campus.
In the morning, while Karen was in class, Dylan tried his new Time Machine. The trip wasn't pleasant at all. First, he was run over by a carriage, and then, upon return, the machine broke down. Dylan was furious.
"Damn! When will I be able to make this thing work?"
But his mood changed when Sharon arrived and started taking pictures of hims. She was very nice, too bad he already has a girlfriend. Plus, at the moment, it was urgen for him to repair the Time Machine.
"If I could make just one of my inventions work, I could seel it and earn a lot of money. Then I will move to a decent dorm!", Dylan dreamed as he consulted his Handiness book.
Dylan left for his classes. Karen returned in the afternoon, so tired she took a nap. Then she studied for a while. In the evening, she and Dylan were invited to Ye Gangnam's party, at the 'rich girls' dorm. So nervous!
So this is the Ye Gangnam girl. Dylan seemed charmed.
He behaved like a celebrity when the other guests wanted to take pictures of him. After all, his mother, the explorer Sienna Langerak, is well known for her traveling around the world.
Some guests of the Gangnam were a little bit old. Were they professors or something?
Dylan talked endlessly about his inventions. It seemed like Ye was starting to yawn. As she wasn't in the Nerds group, she couldn't care less about Science.
Among the 'rich girls' was of course Alexandra Goth, that eccentric cousin of Dylan's. Karen wanted to greet her, since Dylan speaks so highly of her.
"Hi, I'm Karen Helgason, Dylan's girlfriend".
"Oh, yeah? Well, since you're new here, you must accept an initiation challenge. You'll have to kiss a random guy. If you don't, you won't be accepted in the group".
Odd, Karen had no recollection of applying to any group. It seems like Alexandra was one of those sorority girls who like to make the newbies suffer. Karen didn't have to accept the challenge, since she wasn't interested in their friggin' group, but on the other hand, she didn't want to upset Dylan by snubbing his cousin.
So she accepted the challenge and started to look among the guests for someone not so ugly to kiss, wishing that Dylan wasn't looking. But Dylan was too distracted talking to his beloved Alexandra.
She wouldn't leave him allone during the whole party. She couldn't take eyes off of him and was full of praise for him and his family. Maybe she was attracted to him, and this challenge thing was just an excuse to separate them for the rest of the party?
Karen probably is just seeing things, but truth is that Dylan as well as Alexandra seemed happy talking and remembering their childhood days in Hidden springs. Hopefully Alexandra's boyfriend will show up at once!
Anyway, Karen thought it was a good idea to kiss Mr. Home, the old guy at the party.
Nope, it wasn't a good idea. Mr. Home was upset. And worse, Jack Sammon, one of the guests, was watching everything, he even took a picture. Oh, what a disgrace! Now everybody will know. Karen ran out and hid herself, wishing the earth would swallow her up.
Back at the party, Mr. Home wouldn't stop looking at her. He didn't seem upset anymore, it seemed like he had misunderstood everything and thought Karen was interested in him. How to explain to him that it was only a challenge, a joke?
When Alexandra knew, she wouldn't stop laughing. Now Karen would be her mockery. On top of it, she gave the bad news to her: the kiss had to be corresponded returned, and Jack had not only failed to do so, but also, reportedly, had gotten angry. So that kiss didn't count.
"I'm done", Karen thought. But Alexandra extended the deadline to complete the challenge.
"I have to stop attending these parties. Everything always goes wrong. First it was Cid's death, and now this". But all in all, Karen accepted the challenge. Alexandra Goth wouldn't make fun of her, nobody mocked Karen Helgason!
"Well, tomorrow I'll deal with the famous challenge. For now it's enough, I'm going home".
And Karen left the party in such confusion, that she forgot to tell Dylan.
"Excuse me, have you seen Karen?".
That was when Paris told Dylan about the challenge. Ashley had told her, since she had just read it on Alexandra Goth's Facebook.
"Karen on Facebook? This is the last straw! Alexandra will hear me!"
Dylan left the party as well. He was very angry with his cousin, but he could reclaim her cause she had left too. It was late and they had school the next morning, but at some point he would have to talk to her, this couldn't stay like this!
