The Tomb of Isael - Part 1

Champs Les Sims, France. November 7, 2012

"It's so good to see you again. Oh my God, is that the Ruby of Sakkhara? Quick, we must see if it really works!"

"Go down to the Nectar Cellars where you found the three holes and inspect them again. If it works as I expect, you will be able to put the Ruby in its place. You must investigate the area again when you have done it".

The ruby fit perfectly in its place, just like Yves predicted!

It was better to explore the area again like he had suggested.

A keystone! It must have appeared when I placed the ruby. But a key is useless without it's corresponding keyhole. This must be the one that unlocks the tomb Yves mentioned. I picked it up quick and continued to investigate.

If I want to recovert the Sapphire of the Crescent Moon, I must find the entrance to the tomb first. It must be somewhere near de three holes. Could there be a secret door here?

History is made by brave men, and - apparently - by Tony. The Tomb of Isael had opened and was ready to be explored. What lied between those silent walls?

The Sapphire was found in the dephts of the tomb. But it was obvious that Jean Necteaux and his wife, Isael, didn't have any intentions to let their secret chambers be discovered.

The first thing I found when I crossed the secret door was a set of stairs.

And downstairs, another door, two egypcian statues with torches in a corridor, two bunches of gold and a bottle of nectar on a pedestal. Where should I go from there? The only choice was a double door on the left, this took me to another room where, after pushing and pulling statues, I found some treasures more or less valuable.

From there I got to another hall, where I found more bottles of nectar, a relic of considerable value, and a well, which I used to get to the next room.

In it was a chest on a platform suspended in the middle of two movable statues. How would I get there?

Simple, moving the statues. This took me a while, but finally I was able to get to the chest.

I took the treasures, some of them not that precious, and then I have to move the statues again to get out of this strange chamber.

Right there I found another heart-shaped keystone.

I placed the two keys I have found, this deactivated a fire trap and revealed a pile of rubble. I'd have to tear it down to see what was underneath it, but I was exhausted, I needed to sleep first.

After a few hours of rest, I returned to where the pile of rubble was and tore it down, I moved more statues and another secret door appeared.

There was a second door at the end of the corridor, across the trap and the rubble, but I decided to see what was in the first one.

"Well, what a luxurious bedroom. Who would it have belonged to? No idea, I took the metal on the pedestal between the three chairs and went ahead.

I took down the pile of rubble and took the treasures from the chests.

Then I got sleepy again. I had been exploring the Tomb of Isael for three days, pushing statues and secret doors. I can't explain myself how I hadn't died of exhaustion. Luckily that bed turned out to be really comfortable.

In the morning I continued with my quest. In the bathroom I found another secret door that took me to a strangely decorated room. The wall at the bottom was fake, and led to a similar room.

"Hm, yes, it's another heart-shaped keystone".
I also found a chest with a relic that I naturally reclaimed.

I returned to the door across the fire trap and the pile or rubble... It led to small room with more treasures.

Further after several rooms and fake walls, I found yet another heart-shaped keystone.

I'd never finish telling you all the things I had to face: fake walls, movable statues, traps of all kinds that I could deactivate with the recovered keys.

The keystone helped as well to unlock one more door.

Behind it was a room with four statues and four floor switches, these opened a door and a hidden wall. I first looked behind the latter and found some gold coins. Then I headed for the door I had recently unlocked.

I entered a room with a big staircase and some sort of Egyptian throne.

The first thing I did was to check the sarcophagi leaning on the wall, looking for treasures.

I took everything I could fit in my backpack.

"Here we sit, side by side, libing nectar, until the  eve of our death. Isael and Jean".

"This way can't be opened until one's in the middle of the lower floor".
I couldn't go beyond now, I'd have to use the stairs.

I collected all the treasures that I found within my reach, I moved statues to deactivate fire traps, and the staircase was free. By then I was drained, I yearned to sleep, but that didn't seem like a safe place. Anyway, it was not long now so I decided to continue.

When I got to the top of the stairs...

At the end of the room I found a ches with the Sapphire of the Crescent Moon, such a beauty to the eye.

"The decent thing to do would be to take the gem to Yves, but..."

My thoughts were interrupted by two mummies that came out of the sarcophagi in the room downstairs. They startet to walk toward the stairs.

If I fought with them, as exhausted as I was, I surely would not leave to tell. I thought I was finished when, looking for a place to hide, by accident I came across a secret door.

Behind it wsa a corridor that took to the Nectary. I had barely crossed it when it closed behind me. I was safe, and with the Sapphire in my possession!

Yves: "As with the Ruby, you must prove if the Sapphire fits. Take it to one of the two remaining holes, inspect in search of a slot and place the Sapphire. Return when it's done".

Sure, but I'll do that tomorrow. For now I have to go home to sleep.
