Mona and Shark's Wedding

January 18, 2013

The moment has come! After lots of fights, two divorces and a romantic recociliation, Mona and Shark got married for the third time. The party took place at a city disco, not exactly elegant, but withing Shark's budget, cause the propietor is an old friend of his and lend him the place.

They wanted a casual party and over all, very private. That's why, in addition to choosing a small venue, they invited only Mona's family. Shark's realtives could not travel from Twinbrook but they sent gifts, greetings and good wishes. Hmm...

Shark spent moost of the time at the bar.
"Give me two KTHXBYE, please". (Whatever that is)

He didn't forget Mona and brought her a drink. She didn't look very happy.
"Thanks, love, but - Don't you think we should exchange rings and all that, before the toast?"

"Of course we will, dear,  as soon as your brother Anwar stops dancing like John Travolta".

Mona didn't like Shark's remark about Anwar.

Mona's father Karim not only does not like Shark Racket's remarks, but he doesn't like Shar AT ALL. Mona has divorced  him ya se ha divorciado de Shark dos veces, why go back to the same thing? Ah, if it wasn't because Shark's the brother of his wife Lolly...

Only Mona knows why she's so in love with Shark. Thing is, an hour later, they're happily married again.

"Everything's gonna be different this time, I promise", Shark whispers.
Mona has heard this before, but she still believes him. The story begins again.

In contrast, there are other stories than ended forever, like Bella and Karim's. That night they were seen chatting and even dancing together for the first time after their divorce. Karim married again, with Shark's sister by the way. Bella is still single, in the hope of being able to recover an old love, not exactly Karim's.

Anwar knows his parents will never be together again, would rip each other to shreds. Karim never forgave Bella for the Mortimer Goth's affair, it was a treason not only for him, but for her sister Myra, Mortimer's wife. Their case is hopeless. Besides, Dad isn't precisely a stable person, he's on his third marriage, which Anwar is sure won't last long.

Meanwhile, at the bar, Mona is worried about grandpa, who has been drinking a little bit more than usual. Maybe because he's too happy, or maybe because he's hungry. It will be best to start with the banquet immediately.

"Here, gramps, I brought you your dinner".
"Oh, thank you very much, dear. Your party is a success you know? Congratulations to you and Shark. I hope you have a family soon. I want to know my grandchildren already".
Grandpa Farid, always thinking about his legacy, children, grandchildren... That's him! He's not like my Karim, he doesn't have anything against Shark, plus he doesn't like people getting divorced, that's why he's happy that Mona and Shark have restored the peace in their marriage.

A few hours later, Mona is tired and a bit stressed. All she wants is for the party to end and leave for Egypt for her honeymoon.

Shark on the other hand, he's having great fun chatting and joking with the guests. Or should we say with female guests. It seems like he had gotten along well with Bella, and she thinks he's the nicest guy in the world

Mona doesn't like this either. Shark plays nice with every woman, even her own mother? And Bella, she's probably doing this just to piss off Karim.

Karim definitely fell for it, but Amin, as a good politician, tries to keep the situation under control. Anwar doesn't even get close.

Karim and Bella are suddenly very quiet, they don't talk to each other again. It's not just the matter with Shark, it's Karim, he still holds a grudge for the Mortimer affair, that old unsettled issue that could never be solved.

Finally, the guests started to leave, the place is getting empty. Mona breaths in relief. Now she will be able to enjoy the company of her brand 'new' husband.

To bad her parents ended up fighting. Surprise.

Well, home at last.

...And completely alone.

All the worries were left behind, now All Mona can think about now is her marriage, her honeymoon, the illusion of having a family and her new profession. The future! Will she and Shar have one now?
